Exhibition Threads of statehood

In the Palace of Serbia, an exhibition of handicrafts "Threads of Statehood" was officially opened, dedicated to the guardians of heritage who devotedly nurture the elements and skills registered in the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Serbia.

The exhibition was organized by Ethno Network, in cooperation with the Embassy of Great Britain in Belgrade, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Serbia.

The exhibition affirms the importance of preserving intangible cultural heritage as the foundation of national identity and continuity of statehood, emphasizing the values, knowledge and skills that are passed down from generation to generation.

The exhibition was opened by the President of the Republic of Serbia: "With this exhibition, we show that the intangible heritage is the living strength of Serbia. They are a story of identity, of perseverance, of love for one's roots and homeland. This exhibition reminds us that statehood is not only in institutions, laws and borders, but in what always lasts longer than any political era. It is the thread that joins the hands of our mothers and grandmothers with the patience of weaving and the golden glow of the ties that connect the past and the future. Dear ladies, Gentlemen, you who are the guardians of memory, every stitch, every fabric that you have brought here to the heart of the country, is proof that Serbia is the strongest when it does not forget who it is. Our obligation as a country is to continue to support the intangible cultural heritage, to strengthen women's entrepreneurship and to pass on the knowledge that must not be lost generations to come.”
