Felted map of Sabac at the Etnographic museum

Felted replica of Hartman Schedel map that was made during the felting colony in Sabac, is exhibited at the Etnographic museum in Belgrade.

The replica map represents a new step in the activities of Ethno Network with the support of the Embassy of Israel, to create contemporary art inspired by cultural heritage. The map was created as part of the felt colony in Šabac according to the idea and with the participation of the multimedia artist from Israel Sally Krysztal Kramberg, with the direct support of master felters from local craft associations in Sremska Mitrovica - Anica Jelenković, Olgica Savić, Ljubica Tomašević, Ljiljana Žderić and Jelena Protić, and Loznica - Jadranka Baranac, and technical assistance of the Ethno Network experts, i.e. graduated designers and textile conservators - David Đorđević and Jelena Bojović.

The Chronicle is known for its large-format depictions of numerous European cities - Rome, Venice, Paris, Vienna, Florence, Salzburg, Krakow, Budapest, Prague and cities in the Middle East - Jerusalem, Alexandria, Constantinople. The town of Šabac found its place in this book, at the same time this is one of its earliest graphic representations as a Turkish fortress protected by wooden ramparts, earthen embankments and surrounded by towers. A phototype print of the map is also exhibited in the city museum.
