Jury selected winning miniatures

The Hyatt Hotel in Belgrade hosted a jury panel that reviewed and awarded the winning artisans within this year\\\'s exhibition, \\\'100 women-100 miniatures\\\', organized by the Ethno Network in cooperation with the Representative office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade.

The panel of jurors was composed as follows:

1. Leonora Vekic, assistant professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade,
2. Sofija Arsic, Associate Ethno Network,
3. Mladjen Cicovic, director of the the Representative office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade,
4. Sasa Sreckovic, ethnologist and museum consultant Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade,
5. Zlatko Cvetkovic, assistant professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade.

The judges had a difficult task to choose 5 winning exhibits out of a total of 70 miniatures handmade by women from all over Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. Given that for this year’s exhibition only a small number of exhibits in the techniques of pottery and felting, the jury unanimously decided that these two techniques join the category of lace and in addition to awards for young authors, the jury chose the best exhibits in the following traditional techniques:

- Embroidery / gold embroidery / white embroidery,
- Lace / Ceramics / Felting,
- Weaving,
- Young author.


In the category of embroidery, the jury awarded the motifs done by Zorica Jovanovic from Boljevac (eastern Serbia) and Milijana Zirojevic from Nevesinje (Republic of Srpska). In the weaving technique, the winning miniature is the one by Sena Djuric from Trebinje (Republic of Srpska) whereas the majority vote of the jury in the category of lace, went to Aida Ramic from Banja Luka (Republic of Srpska). The best young author of this year is Milica Cvijovic from Belgrade who submitted en embroidered exhibit.

The award ceremony will be organized by the end of November in Belgrade, after which the exhibition will move to the Republic
