Exhibition in Bela Palanka

Within the project „Empowerment of women and youth for self – employment in the scope of rural development of Serbia“, initiated by the Ethno network with the support of the Fund for an Open Society, on April 13, Association „Miris Zavicaja“, opened an exhibition in Ethno center in Bela Palanka.

Ethno network assisted in setting up the exhibition, which featured about fifty items made from natural materials by traditional techniques felting (hand – pressed wool), embroidery and gold thread embroidery.

The exhibition was opened by Dusanka Botunjac, Ethno network\'s designer and mentor of the group, together with the president of the Association „Miris Zavicaja“, Radijana Zivkovic. They presented the Association, work on the project and project results.

Gordana Ilic, educator of felting technique, presented favorable impressions of working with the group that has passed this training. Exhibition was attented by representatives of local governments, whose support helped the realization of this event.

Representatives of the Tourist Organization, the National library, the Homeland museum, the Directorate for construction and the Culture centre of Bela Palanka also attend this exhibition. They were joined by the representatives of secondary school „Nikita Remizijanski“, primary school „Ljupce Spanac“, and representatives of the nursery „Dragica Lalovic“.

This exhibition was recorded by local media. It is noticed that the interest for the processing of wool fiber was great, as well as satisfaction for the products of hand – pressed wool.
