Annual membership meeting

Annual Meeting of Ethno Network members was organized with association members to review the activities and results in the current year and to discuss the needs and priorities of 2014. Besides representatives of Ethno Network, the meeting was attended by members of the associations from the local communities: Kladovo, Odzaci, Bor, Pancevo, Belgrade, Veliko Gradiste and Indjija.

In the opening address, Ethno Network presidency briefly presented the activities of the association in 2013, noting that the financial crisis has brought activities to the minimum. Both sides expressed the need to reintensify communication and if possible cooperation with groups on the ground. During 2013, Ethno Network accomplished the following results:

- participation and representation of Ethno Network in a two-day conference on „Women Leaders“ in Belgrade,
- signed MoU with the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade,
- delivered awards to the authors of miniatures from the exhibition of 2012,
- held Ethno Network exhibition in Knez Mihailova,
- admitted into the European Folk Art and Craft Federation,
- organized Ethno Network promotion at the National Assembly of Serbia,
- enabled intensive media promotion - RTS , Studio B, TV Happy, daily „Politika“.

Members of local organizations presented their activities in 2013 and noted that thanks to the years of hard work and following the standards set by Ethno Network, they received recognition and respect in their communities as an important partner in promoting local values.

The presidency announced the possibility of participation of Ethno Network in the project likely to start in spring 2014 for denomination of geographical indications in handicrafts. All members of Ethno Network will be sent a form and invited to nominate items, motifs and techniques that could be eligible for geographical indications.
