Exhibition of miniatures in Negotin

Negotin, March 7 - Exhibition of miniatures of Ethno network, entitled “100 women – 100 miniatures”, was officially opened tonight in the gallery of the Cultural center ”Stevan Mokranjac” in Negotin. Visitors will be able to see handiworks of women from all over Serbia, including five winning handicrafts whose authors have received valuable cash prizes. The exhibition was opened by Gorica Popovic, Serbian famous actress, and Dusanka Botunjac, artistic director of the Cultural Center in Negotin.

- Some time ago I started doing handicrafts by myself and I realized how many women there are with an exceptional talent for handicrafts. Ethno Network gathers together such women and it is fantastic. We are now in the lobby of Europe, and I think that we should definitely go there with our tradition and uniqueness. I advise every woman – just go ahead and work, everything produced by your hands will be golden! Handiwork is something that relaxes, makes people happy, and I personally believe that beauty saves the world, so this beauty in front of you will certainly make happier every visitor in this gallery – said Gorica Popovic during opening ceremony.

Dusanka Botunjac pointed out that Ethno Network is visionary and it is moving in the right direction. This is the second exhibition of miniatures, and she believes it will become a traditional event.

This year the exhibition is organized within the project “Employment in rural areas”, funded by the European Union through the RSEDP2, and implemented by Ethno Network. Municipality of Negotin is one of the partners in this project, as well as local authorities in Kladovo, which is the next place where the miniatures will be exhibited.
