Exhibition in Kladovo

On the occasion of the 8th of March, the International women’s day, the association “Misija Kreativa” prepared an exhibition in the gallery of Tourist-information center in the down-town area, to present the hand-woven items that were produced in 2009 in collaboration with “Ethno Network” within the Public works project supported by the Ministry of economy and National Employment Agency. The exhibits include representative woolen items (rugs and place mats) with authentic ethno motifs that fit well into the modern interior design.

Chair of the Association “Misija kreativa” Slavica Borakovic said on the occasion that the International women’s day is only an immediate cause for the exhibition and an opportunity to display these wonderful locally-made products to the community in Kladovo.

“Our products were exhibited last year in December in the Gallery “Progres” in Knez Mihailova in Belgrade, as well as at the International trade fair “Green week” in Berlin. For the 8th of March, we prepared additional products that are being exhibited in the gallery of our tourist-information center, that has been continuously supporting us for three years, along with the Cultural center and local government in Kladovo”, stated Mrs.Borakovic.

„Ethno Network“ designer for east Serbia, Dusanka Botunjac, acquainted numerous visitors of the exhibition that the handicrafts of Kladovo weavers are made in the most difficult weaving technique, that requires a lot of hard work by highly-skilled weavers.

„Each of the hand-woven rugs is a two-sided item that can be used on both sides, which is another advantage of these beautiful products. Thanks to their beauty, design and quality, the rugs and place mats fit well into any interior arrangement“, reiterated Mrs. Botunjac, a renowned artist from Negotin.

The exhibition that includes hand-woven items and pottery, is open until March 15, 2010 and is done under the auspices of the local gove
