Ethno Network at Students’ Economic Forum

Center for education and social emancipation of youth CEDEM, organized the second student Economic Forum in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (PKS). In the introductory part of the Forum, the students were addressed by Marko Cadez, President of PKS, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, director of the National Employment Service, Zoran Martinovic and selected representatives of embassies, NGOs and businesses.

Within the panels at the forum, Ethno Network was also given the opportunity to present its work and mechanisms to support women\'s entrepreneurship. Project manager of Ethno Network, Iva Radic in the panel titled \'Women in entrepreneurship as designers of economic development of Serbia\' presented to the participants of the Forum previous work of the association and projects that are focused on female employment. The public works project implemented by Ethno Network over a number of years, contributes not only to the short-term employment of women but also aims at their additional training and transition from amateurs to market-oriented producers. Public works have resulted in a higher level of skills among the artisans which have become more economically independent and self-fulfiled. As more than 30% of beneficiares of Ethno Network public works are young people under 30 years of age, forum participants expressed interest to be engaged and develop their entrepreneurial and design ideas in cooperation with Ethno Network.
