Annual assembly meeting

The Annual Assembly Meeting of Ethno Network was attended by most members of the association with representatives from Negotin, Bela Palanka, Kladovo, Veliko Gradiste, Bor, Kikinda, Indjija, Belgrade and Odzaci.

The meeting was opened with a report on the results of Ethno Network in 2014, and the work plan for the current year, after which the present members presented the results of their associations at the local level. During 2014, Ethno Network has positioned itself a key partner in dialogue with central level institutions on the subject of support to women in rural areas. These efforts are expected to generate greater resources to support the functioning of associations and new public works to supply institutions with handicrafts for protocol gifts. Most local associations in Ethno Network enjoy the support of their local governments, which is reflected in the provision of space for the workshop, participation in local and national events and fairs, and often funds for program activities and purchase of products for municipal representation.

Further during the meeting, the assembly voted for a new Managing Board composed of Sofija Arsic, Dusanka Botunjac, Danijela Aradjanski, Jovanka Sovljanski and Radmila Jovanovic, and a unanimous decision of all present was reached to entrust the previous chairperson, Violeta Jovanovic with a new four-year term.

In a year when Ethno Network celebrates its tenth anniversary overcoming numerous challenges in the past years, the assembly meeting was dominated by the sense of community as the foundation for the strategic directions and future activities in 2015.
