Opening of crafts store in Kikinda

On May 7, members of the crafts cooperative Unikat from Kikinda held an opening ceremony to launch the sales space in the downtown area in Kikinda.

The rented space that has only recently been equipped with the shelves and mannequins provided through the Ethno Network project, was officially open by a poetic introduction of a local artist Marija Ostojic who, followed by the sounds of ethno music, quoted Milos Crnjanski who once said that Kikinda was the most beautiful window to Europe. Unikat\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s window now features delicate handiwork including both household items, unique pieces of clothing and extremely fine embroidery and lace-work.

Friends and guests were served home-made pastry and cookies made by the artful hands of these diligent ladies.

This sales space represents systematized approach on the part of these female artisans to support the promotion and sales of traditional Serbian handicrafts.
