Closing Exhibitions of the Project Funded by the MYS

The nation-wide project funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and implemented by Ethno Network in 15 municipalities throughout Serbia, aiming to provide training for youth, primarily senior high school students and familiarize this target group with the issues of tradition, preservation of cultural heritage and youth entrepreneurship. The project included 15 municipalities and over 450 direct beneficiaries that participated in the orientation training and specialized courses. Following the orientation regional seminars held in Zajecar, Veliko Gradiste and Novi Sad, the project provided specialized courses (weaving, embroidery, gold thread embroidery, pottery) in Ethno Network members’ workshops for select beneficiaries in each of the fifteen municipalities. In January and February, as the groups were completing specialized courses, closing exhibitions were organized and attended by project partners, i.e. media, local government and high school representatives, who also delivered special certificates of attendance for all participants who completed the training successfully. The exhibitions featured in the photos were organized as follows: 1. January 26, 2009. – Indjija and Knjazevac 2. January 27, 2009. – Kikinda 3. February 6, 2009. – Pancevo 4. February 9, 2009. – Novi Sad 5. February 11, 2009. – Bor, Negotin and Zajecar 6. February 12, 2009. – Kladovo 7. February 16, 2009. – Bela Palanka and Cuprija 8. February 24, 2009. – Pecinci 9. February 26, 2009. – Veliko Gradiste, Kucevo and Pozarevac Thanks to the growing interest of youth to participate in the project, coupled with lack of instutitional understanding and support for traditional handicrafts to be included as an integral part of Serbia’s tourism offer, Ethno Network strongly advocates for continued institutional and financial support towards development of youth entrepreneurship.
