Celebrating local brands

Ethno Network, with the support of NALED and local governments, opened a sales exhibition of local brands entitled \\\'Serbia in Belgrade\\\'. The exhibition is located in Knez Mihailova aiming to present recognizable products from the communities of Pirot, Sombor, Indjija, Leskovac, Pancevo, and Loznica.

Exhibited items include traditional handicrafts and food with a geographical indication of origin, such as silk hand-woven damask, Pirot and Stapar rugs, Sombor cheese, cheese from Stara Planina, socks knit with five needles, Fruska Gora and Homolje honey, weaving pattern from Pancevo, Vlach motives from Eastern Serbia, Leskovac chutney, dried plums from Osecina, Valjevo pork cracklings, Arilje raspberries, Uzice sour cream, ceramics from Zlakusa, Pirot pottery and other local brands that create an authentic experience of Serbia.

The event was opened by the city manager Goran Vesic and Australian Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Julia Feeney, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Andreja Mladenovic, representatives of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade and City Secretariats, mayors and local officials. On that occasion, city officials announced the opening of an ethno gallery in Belgrade early 2017 in order to provide a representative display and a standing supply of authentic brands from all over Serbia.
