Awards for best miniatures

Zorica Jovanovic and Milica Cvijovic from Serbia and Milijana Zirojevic, Sena Djurica and Aida Ramic from the Republic of Serbian, as this year\\\'s winners of the award for best miniatures made in traditional techniques.

Their works have won awards at the 4th juried handicrafts exhibition called \\\'100 women - 100 miniatures\\\' in the categories of embroidery, weaving, lace and best young author. The exhibition was organized by Ethno Network and Representative office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade, in cooperation with NALED.

Annual exhibition of traditional handicraft motifs called \\\'100 women - 100 miniatures\\\' is the only juried exhibition of handicrafts that sets high standards in old techniques with the aim of active preservation of the traditional heritage of Serbia. Through institutional cooperation with the Representative office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade, Ethno Network has expanded the range of this year’s exhibition that has grown to be a regional event.

\\\'The cabinet of Mrs. Kori Udovicki, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, wants to use traditional handicrafts for diplomatic gifts and thus create a source of income and employment for rural women,\\\' said Ivan Bosnjak, Secretary of State in the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government at the opening of the exhibition.

For all the top rated authors, organizers have provided valuable prizes through sponsorship of socially responsible companies that have recognized the importance of this initiative (Telekom Serbia, Serbia Elnos, Asseco SEE, Opportunity Bank, hotel Hyatt) and with the institutional support of the Representative office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade, Tourist Organization of the Republic Serbian Tourist Organization of Banja Luka and the National alliance for Local economic Development (NALED).
