Ethno Network awarded

National Employment Agency handed out annual awards to companies, local governments and organizations that directly contributed to employment growth. The ceremony was held at the Parliamentary club in Belgrade, and the awards were presented by Zoran Martinovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, and Dejan Jovanovic, director of the National Employment Agency.
Ethno Network was awarded for its support to the development of women\\\'s entrepreneurship and preservation of tradition and the award was received on behalf of the Association by Violeta Jovanovic, President of the Managing Board. She stressed the importance of the cooperation with the National Employment Agency, in particular through public works projects, that provided artisans with the opportunity to make their hobby - making traditional handicrafts - into a job and a stable source income for themselves and their families. Ms. Jovanovic reiterated that Ethno Network currently has about 400 women as members in 24 associations throughout Serbia, and confirmation of the quality of their products is cooperation with the Protocol of the Serbian government, whose representatives are now using traditional handicrafts as gifts in meetings with foreign delegations.
Besides Ethno Network, awards were presented to three local governments (Cacak Odzaci and Obrenovac) four companies and to the best performing branch offices - Kragujevac, Belgrade, Pirot and Kosovska Mitrovica.
Director of the National Employment Agency, Dejan Jovanovic, said that the award winners in the time of economic crisis are \\\'true heroes who serve as a model for others.\\\'
